Meta-owned popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a new and improved app for Mac users, which now supports group calling for the first time.
The new WhatsApp app for Mac allows users to make group calls from their Mac, supporting up to 8 people in video calls and up to 32 people in audio calls. Additionally, Mac users can now join a group call even after it has started, see their call history and also receive incoming call notifications even when the app is closed.
The new WhatsApp app for Mac has been designed to make it easier for users to navigate and use the application on larger screens. The app now allows users to drag and drop files directly into a chat and also view more of their chat history
As with WhatsApp on other devices, the Mac app ensures that personal messages and calls remain private with end-to-end encryption.
As when using the app on any device, WhatsApp said that its Mac app also keeps users' personal messages and calls private with end-to-end encryption. The new app is available to download now from WhatsApp.com and will also be coming soon to the App Store.
