In a scathing critique, former Finance Minister and YSRCP leader Buggana Rajendranath lambasted the white paper released by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Rajendranath accused Naidu of using the report to evade his obligations to the public.
Speaking with ANI, Rajendranath stated, 'The release of the white paper on finances is just a way for Naidu to shirk his responsibilities and the promises made to the public.' He critiqued the document's lack of substantial content, emphasizing the importance of Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) for accurate economic comparisons.
According to the white paper, Andhra Pradesh faced a loss of Rs 6.94 lakh crore due to a reduced growth rate, which dropped from 13.5 per cent (2014-2019) to 10.5 per cent. Additionally, the state suffered financial setbacks due to misgovernance and increased power costs, totaling Rs 12,250 crore. The report also alleged significant losses from illegal sand mining and mismanagement in mineral revenue.
