The Odisha government has amassed an unprecedented number of over 12,000 public suggestions for the 2024-25 state budget, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday. The full-fledged budget is slated to be presented in the assembly on July 25.
Earlier, the CM conducted a pre-budget meeting with diverse representatives, including experts and former state finance ministers.
The Finance Department solicited input from the public, civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders. Majhi emphasized that as a people’s government, public opinion is a top priority in budget preparations.
This year’s impressive public participation, six times more than last year, is seen as highly encouraging. The state government aims to incorporate these suggestions into the final budget to meet public aspirations, contributing to the vision of a new Odisha.
