Four Naxalites were arrested on Saturday in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, as confirmed by a police official.
They were apprehended from a forest near Mallepalli-Bandaguda village in Basaguda during an anti-Naxal operation led by the local police and District Reserve Guard. According to Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav, the operation was a success.
Among the arrested, Midiyam Lachchhu was noted as the DAKMS president of the banned Maoist group and had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh. A female ultra identified as Midiyam Kamla Sharmila, also known as Some Uike, was among those taken into custody. The group was linked to a 2024 shooting incident involving the police and a 2016 attack on a security camp. Recovered from them were two bows and four arrows.
