A fire broke out on the ninth floor of an apartment here on Friday due to a short circuit, police said. Twenty people trapped in the fire were rescued safely.
SHO of Muhana police station, Madan Lal, confirmed that the fire started on the ninth floor of an apartment in Patrakar Colony. The police and firefighters managed a swift rescue operation, evacuating 20 people who were trapped in the blaze. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Another police officer noted that the building has 12 floors and houses approximately 250 families. Sparks from the electricity lines caused the short circuit. Due to the resulting smoke, people on the ninth floor felt suffocated before being rescued. No case has been registered in the matter.
