Tragic Loss: Former Cardiff Player Sol Bamba Passes at 39

Souleymane “Sol” Bamba, known for his time at Cardiff City in the English Premier League, has tragically passed away at the age of 39. Bamba was currently serving as a coach for Turkish club Adanaspor.

Bamba fell ill ahead of his team’s away game in Manisa and was admitted to the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital, where he sadly died. Adanaspor expressed deep condolences to his family and the football community in a statement on Twitter.

Club president Asil Bostanci shared that Bamba was hospitalized Friday morning with a fever, emphasizing the unexpected nature of this loss. Bamba had a notable career, starting at Paris Saint-Germain and playing in various European leagues, including 46 appearances for the Ivory Coast national team. He also battled and overcame non-Hodgkin's lymphoma during his career.
