Reliance Jio has reinforced its commanding position in the Indian telecom market by adding 21.74 lakh wireless subscribers in March, according to the latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Meanwhile, its competitor Bharti Airtel increased its subscriber base by 12.50 lakh users, whereas Vodafone Idea continued to struggle, losing 5.41 lakh users in the same period.
Overall, India's wireless subscriber base showed a slight uptick, particularly in rural areas, even as urban subscriptions saw a marginal decrease. Wireline subscriptions also experienced growth, although the national tele-density rate remained unchanged.
