Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali, a member of the ISIS Pune module, was apprehended by the Delhi Police's Special Cell on Thursday night near the Delhi-Faridabad border, officials confirmed on Friday.
Acting on a precise tip-off, the police arrested Ali with a .30-bore pistol, three live cartridges, and two mobile phones. Ali, believed to be scouting for potential attacks on VIPs in the Delhi-NCR region, is currently undergoing intensive interrogation.
Ali's arrest marks a significant breakthrough for law enforcement agencies, which have been pursuing him for over a year. His capture follows the earlier arrests of other module members, underlining the coordinated efforts of the Delhi Police, Maharashtra Police, and the NIA in curbing ISIS activities.
