After years of anticipation, the international cricket stadium project in Goa's Pernem taluka will finally see construction commence by 2028, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced to the legislative assembly.
In response to inquiries about the project's long delay since the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) was allocated land 14 years ago, Sawant highlighted that while some essential No Objection Certificates have been acquired, on-site work has yet to begin.
GCA received a substantial Rs 100 crore grant from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is currently held in fixed deposits. Financial activities, including audits and grant checks, ensure transparency and accountability.
